"Quality key sentences and
keyterms can
significantly increase your website's traffic and ranking."
Key
sentences in the literary world are the primary sentence of a block of
text, such as a paragraph. As
many know, key
sentences can also be an important part of a letter or article.
Keyterms are more abstract, though search-friendly
keyphrases. Key
sentences (keysentences) can be considered longer, search-friendly
keyphrases. Often in the case of key sentences, the
entire key sentence doesn't need to be typed in to come up in a search.
This is true to a lesser extent with keyterms.
Key
sentences and keyterms are not essential in order to write a good
webpage but
remember
search engines look at webpages different than people do.
From
the standpoint of search engines,
your keywords and keyphrases help act as the searchable foundation of
your
website. Your key sentences and keyterms can strengthen and add to that
foundation as well as work independently from your keyphrases to
increase website traffic.
My work with your keyterms (key terms)
and keysentences (keysentences)
also can have significant
value in increasing your search engine ranking, though that can't be counted on. Note that often only part of a good key sentence needs to be typed into a search engine for the webpage it's on to come up. Typically however keyterms and key
sentences are searched for
less than highly relavent keyphrases.
My intention is not to try and trick search engines but to make these key
terms and key sentences a logical part of your site.
Keyphrase's,
keyterm and key sentence's popularity can vary. Searches for
them might spike seasonally or when they're related to a current event.
Remember,
unless you're already well placed in search engines,
it's usually not too late to change or add to your
site's key sentences and keyterms. Also note that both can be
changed
and/or updated several times a year depending on events related to your industry and
your search engine position.
